CHROMATIC CONCORDAT: Gray Rising

The first thing Havayah ever saw was gray, an emptiness that ate away at the sides of everything she had never been able to see.She was born in a Dominion where colors sing, burn, heal, and kill. A world where every life is bound to color. But Havayah lacked this so-called color bond, and the world she knew hated her for it tagging her cursed for her lack thereof...Surving alone after being cast out by society, the Ma’or Council soon declares her a threat for lacking Chromatic attunement (the sacred color bond that defines life in the Spectrum Dominion) and sent to deal with her was an empathic investigator named Nefesh. However, after Nefesh met her, he did something odd, choosing to protect her in place of destruction.So protected by Nefesh, Havayah is then forced beyond the life she has always known, where they soon journey toward safety, uncovering on their way, truths about the Dominion that neither of them was meant to find, including the Ma’or Council’s plan for the shattered Prismatic Nexus.The Council intends to use the Nexus to seize control of the five color spectrums (the five nations of the Spectrum Dominion), and purge those it has branded “colorless.”Their actions, the action of the Ma'or Council, then births a league of rebels promising liberation.But a revolution does not become righteous simply because it stands against a tyrant.As Havayah is drawn deeper into the conflict, the rebels reveal a darkness of their own, forcing her to question who deserves freedom.Through underwater cities and skies stained with power, Havayah will have to find her own place in a world that decided she had none.Because when the world gave her nada, she learned to take everything.This is not a story about saving the world.
